Stationary Storage
To make the transition to a carbon-neutral economy by 2050, renewable energy storage will need to be everywhere, stabilising the grid, and supporting industry and domestic power consumption.
Gelion’s technology, developed by our founder Professor Thomas Maschmeyer and his team, uses novel materials that deliver affordable, scalable, and safe solutions to store renewable energy.
The Sustainable Energy-Storage Solution
Gelion’s Zinc Hybrid Cell is designed to completely discharge to zero volts, perform at high temperature and be inherently safe. This makes it ideal for stationary storage applications across telecoms, and utility scale energy storage industries.
The batteries will provide a scalable energy storage solution (ESS) for applications including Home UPS, Data Centers, Wind Power Generation, and Utility Scale ESS.
Gelion’s battery uses materials that are abundant, inexpensive, recyclable and abuse-tolerant.
This gives our platform environmental and commercial advantages over lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries for stationary energy.
“Total overall investment in the grid connected energy storage market is expected to reach US $86 billion globally by 2025, growing at greater than 24% compound annual growth rate (CAGR).”
–Wood Mackenzie (June 2021)
