2024

Gelion announces new Integration Solutions business with first commercial customer, Group Energy Pty Ltd (part of Borg Group).

Gelion announces the incorporation of wholly owned subsidiary Battery Minerals Ltd following awarding of UK Recycling Grant from the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK.

Gelion successfully achieves the energy density milestone of 402 Wh/Kg in a 12 Ah cell comprised of its GEN 3 semi-solid-state Li-S technology.

Gelion signs Joint Development Agreement with Glencore, one of the world’s largest globally diversified resource companies.

Dr. Louis Adriaenssens appointed as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Gelion.

Dr. Adrien Amigues appointed as President of Gelion UK and Europe.

2023

Gelion signs Joint Development Agreement with Ionblox, a leading US Silicon Oxide battery innovator.

Gelion successfully completes £4.0 capital raise and acquires OXLiD, a UK lithium-sulfur innovator.

Gelion provides updates on progress made using the battery technology package acquired from Johnson Matthey with its own IP, Li-S IP and expertise from OXIS Energy.

Zinc Gen 5.0 advanced cell chemistry development started to achieve ultra-high power, lower cost and greater safety.

2022

Serial technology entrepreneur and public company CEO John Wood appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Gelion.

Commissioned an upscaled 12.6kWh test system for Acciona project.

Manufactured 1200 ZnBr2 cells for internal validation test program.

Large systems testing of Gen 4.0 variants.

2021

Gelion successfully listed on the London Stock Exchange AIM market to become Gelion plc.

Gelion research and development team optimises Performance Additives and tests materials.

Gen 4.0 cells developed, with 1.2kWh systems achieving >87% RTE.

2020

Li-S additive breakthrough with University of Sydney polysulfide management additive work led by Professor Thomas Maschmeyer and Jacob Carpenter.

Gelion launches Li-S division, commencing research and development with dedicated University of Sydney team and acquiring licence to patent.

Gen 2.0 and Gen 3.0 cells developed, with 210Wh systems deployed in field settings with 80% RTE.

Gen 1.0 3Wh cells with 75% RTE developed and deployed into solar-powered light towers at the University of Sydney.

Patented gel electrodes optimised.

Advanced 2.5Wh cells developed with 70% RTE.

Early-stage 1Wh cells with 65% round trip efficiency (RTE) developed at University of Sydney Gelion labs.
